Other Ceremonies

I would consider it a pleasure to help you to celebrate the following very special occasions at your home or a venue of your choice.

Naming Ceremonies:

“A new baby is like the beginning of all things – wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities” Eda J Le Shan

Congratulations: You may have a baby, a young child or an older person who you would like to honour with a Naming Ceremony. Nothing could be more worthy of a celebration. Naming Ceremonies are as old as humankind itself. They are neither a baptism nor a christening, but they are a fulfilling and meaningful experience. They may seem to be non-religious, however that doesn’t mean that they are non-spiritual. They can bring us together with all our differences and build a greater sense of community and belonging. Choosing a special name for your child not only gives them a sense of personal identity, but it also gives a sense of family and cultural identity, which is important for a child’s sense of belonging, and a personal name in which they can take pride. A very important and delightful element of the ceremony is the signing of the Naming Certificates which will include signing by the Parents, Godparents/Guardians and Grandparents, all of whom will be given their individual certificates as a memento of your special day.

Commitment Ceremonies:

“Anyone can catch your eye, but it takes someone special to catch your heart” Author Unknown

A commitment ceremony is often very similar to every other style of wedding ceremony. The difference is that rather than being a legally binding ceremony, it is a public affirmation of the love that a man and woman or a same sex couple have for each other and a public commitment to each other. The couple may recite their vows to each other and exchange rings. They may choose to have a close friend or relative read a poem, sing, or play a musical instrument that includes the words of love that expresses their feelings for each other.

Renewal of Vows Ceremony:

“I was lucky to find my true and best friend when I met you”

You may wish to renew your vows as a celebration of the evolution of your relationship, or as a ceremony for people who were unable to attend your wedding. Whatever the reason, this is a wonderful way to reaffirm and deepen your relationship to each other, either in a private ceremony or in the company of family and friends.
